A collaboration between friends (photographer Kelsey McClellan, prop stylist Michelle Maguire, and painter Kristin Texeira) consisting of a series of photos replicating the elemental shapes and soothing color palettes of Kristin’s abstract paintings. Working within the stay-in-place mandates of their respective states during Covid (Kelsey in San Francisco, Michelle in Columbus, Ohio, and Kristin in upstate New York), they collaborated remotely, responding to one another’s prompts and relying on items they already had in their possession. While coming at the project from different mediums, working in tandem ultimately allowed a painterly aesthetic and photographic eye to infuse each composition.
